About Candace

Online therapist, Calgary and Area therapist, Alberta therapist, Individual, Couple, and Family Therapist

Hello, welcome to my virtual office!

I’m Candace, a Certified Canadian Counsellor with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and an undergraduate degree in Marriage and Family Studies. I completed my internship at the Calgary Counselling Centre and am a proud member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta.

I chose to become a therapist because I believe we are meant to live with joy, yet many of us struggle to reach our potential. Grief, trauma, relationship dynamics, coping mechanisms, and a negative self-concept can feel like insurmountable obstacles. Life can be challenging, but we were never meant to navigate this journey alone.

My education and training have given me tools to help others explore and lean into their challenges, aimed towards growth and healing. My person-centred, trauma-informed approach draws on research-based theories and frameworks such as Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, among others. I also incorporate Existential Therapy with clients, as I have found that how we conceptualize our experiences is influenced by a greater sense of meaning and purpose in life.

What drives me is the belief that everyone deserves, and needs, to feel truly connected, both to themselves and to others. Often, we just need someone who genuinely cares and has the skills to help us work through the obstacles getting in our way. It brings me great satisfaction to help others discover their true selves and enhance their relationships with others.

If you’re ready to explore your path toward healing and connection, I’m here to guide and support you.
